MIFARE Ultralight C may be the newest member of the MIFARE technology platform, complementing the offering in the low-cost segment.smart cards
It is the first smart card IC for limited-use applications that provides solution developers and providers the main advantages of a wide open cryptography. With 3DES, MIFARE Ultralight C runs on the widely adopted standard, enabling easy integration in existing infrastructures. The integrated authentication command set offers an effective anti-cloning functionality which enables to stop counterfeit of tickets.
Tickets, vouchers or tags depending on NXP MIFARE Ultralight C ICs can work as single trip tickets in public areas transportation networks or loyalty cards, day passes at big events or smart poster tags in NFC applications. These are the ideal option to conventional ticketing solutions including paper tickets, magnetic-stripe tickets or coins.
MIFARE Ultralight C operates in line with the ISO /IEC 14443 A typical, allowing an operating distance as high as 10cm with true anti-collision support. MIFARE Ultralight C is fully appropriate for existing MIFARE infrastructure and can therefore be easily integrated in current contactless solutions. Especially existing solutions utilizing MIFARE Ultralight and MIFARE DESFire EV1 will manage to benefit, since the command set works to MIFARE Ultralight as well as the authentication commands overlap with the methods utilized in MIFARE DESFire EV1.contactless cards
